Just keep walking. Don’t look them in the eye. Pretend to be busy with your mobile or something. They will walk away. If they don’t, tell them you don’t have change. “Chutta nahin hain”. You are not responsible for their fate. Life isn’t fair anyway. Moreover, you will encourage begging if you give in. If you do that, it’s going to be a daily affair.

Do you feel bad? Oh please, you don’t need to even think about them. You have your own shit to attend. But the fact is you can always afford to put a 10 rupee note in their palms daily. It will be around INR 300 a month – way cheaper than your one-time cost of beer, weed & weekend scene. But what about the other palms that will come forward stretching as a result of your action? You will have to select among them and decide who deserves your paltry amount. Oh, so now you will decide who goes hungry to sleep!

Crap! Fuck this shit. You are not responsible for all this. Where is the government? Shouldn’t they be doing something? I mean it’s their responsibility. Moreover, you are already doing your part by paying your fair share of taxes. Dude, you pay 30% of your earnings as taxes to the government. Yes, your responsibility ends there. Bravo, congratulations! You have done a good deed, kind sir! Aha, so now you are playing the blame game! Way to go, son!

Anyway, why are they begging? Can’t they find some work or something? But you have never been in their place. Have you ever tried finding out if they actually tried looking for work. Nope, never cared! May be they are just hungry, very hungry!! You know how that feels like. Do you?

You seem embarrassed to be a part of this society, where obese and malnourished co-exist a few meters away. Man, why do you have to cloud a simple matter with concepts of Gross domestic product, economy, government, politics, economics, people, society, insurgency, karma, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum!
